When country is closed due to a death in the family.
We take this very seriously and follow strict Kokotharpal lore to enable funeral ceremonies that reconnect our people back to country. Some of these ceremonies can last for up to a month.
Bush Meetings
During the year we hold special gatherings out bush. This is a time for us to reconnect with Country and each other, and to practise our ways of knowing, being and doing.
Visiting Country
When planning to go out bush for the day or for any other business, please ensure you contact the Kowanyama PBC and our office beforehand. Our Elders ask that visitors seek permission before entering our country, and we ask that you respect their cultural authority at all times.
